Fleets using Motive’s Fuel Hub can significantly cut fuel consumption through optimized programs. We analyzed 820 active fleets from January 2020 to December 2021 to uncover strategies that boosted fuel efficiency.
The top 15% of fleets improved miles per gallon by 13% (6.5% annual average) and saw a 20% reduction in idling and 79% fewer hard accelerations. These fleets also increased vehicle inspections by 80%, saving 3 million gallons of fuel in 2021—equivalent to 31,000 tons of CO2 or planting 1.6 million trees. With an average fuel price of $3.29/gallon, these fleets saved $9.9 million.
